Photometric Studies (also called Photometrics or PMETS) are computer models used during the design phase of a project that show how a chosen Light Fixture or Light Fixture Layout will perform once installed.  They are helpful for identifying “hot spots” and dark areas in your lighting layout, as well as for comparing light fixture performance, determining ideal fixture spacing, mounting heights, etc, to help ensure project design criteria is being met. 

 We provide Photometric Layouts for Architects, Electrical Engineers, Developers, New Construction Projects, Space Planning, Code-Compliance, Before/After Comparisons for LED Upgrade/Retrofit projects, and more.  We have Certified Lighting Consultants (LC) on staff that can verify design criteria, and sign-off on PMET Lighting Layouts when required by Municipalities and Code-Compliance.  

Although PMETs are most commonly used for exterior lighting, such as Parking Lot Lighting, Parking Garage Lighting, and Roadway Lighting, they can be useful design tools for Interior Lighting as well.  Using PMETs, we've been able to identify overdesigned lighting layouts / reflected ceiling plans, and suggest design changes that resulted in significant cost savings by reducing fixture counts, without sacrificing brightness or quality of light.

We offer Surveys or Audits of Existing Sites in preparation for LED Upgrades or systems expansion projects, or to evaluate overall current system performance (condition of hardware, counts, Lighting Energy Usage, etc), and help identify areas for improvement.
